1/2 lb-Low Density Spray Foam

1/2-pound SPF, also known as low-density, or Open-cell foam

For residential projects like soundproofing walls and other spaces, low-density SPF performs well. Foam with open cells is not waterproof. As a result, it is recommended that you use it indoors rather than on the outside of your home.
Spray foam is a fantastic solution if you want to increase the airtightness and energy efficiency of your home. A majority of open-cell foams will be impenetrable by air at least 3.5 inches thick.

What Is The R-Value Of 1/2 pound Spray Foam?

Open foam’s R-value ranges from 3.5 to 3.6 per inch, which means it has an R-value of about R-7. The open-cell foam should be 6 to 10 inches thick when used for a roof or ceiling and 3 inches on walls.
