Government
Ontario and the Government of Canada are offering this rebate to residential homeowners as a thank-you for cutting down your total household energy consumption. On a bigger scale, the goal is to alleviate the negatives of climate change.
We can help you receive up to $10000 in rebates for making your home more comfortable and eco-friendly through renovations and upgrades!
As a homeowner, all you must do to qualify is complete 2 EnerGuide Energy Audits (pre- and post-renovations).
Greener Homes Rebate
The Canada Greener Homes Grant provides funds for home evaluations and for retrofits, to a total of $5,600. Homeowners are eligible for up to $600 total for the cost of pre- and post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluations and for up to $5,000 total for the implementation of eligible retrofits such as home insulation, windows doors, and air sealing.
* Eligible homeowners in Canada regardless of where they live can participate in the initiative. Only one homeowner per home can register. You will be required to:
1. Provide proof of ownership with your property tax bill number (this number can be found on your municipal property tax documents)
2. Demonstrate the property is your primary residence through either a driver’s licence, or a government-issued ID (with address), or utility bill
Requirements for the initiative
You must:
Complete a pre- and post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation.
Complete at least one retrofit that is both eligible and recommended by your energy advisor in their report. Only homeowners who conduct at least one retrofit will be reimbursed.
Provide and keep copies of all of your documents until March 31, 2028.
What is eligible for reimbursement?
Once you have completed your retrofits, you can seek reimbursement for:
Up to $5,000 total for the implementation of eligible retrofits done after December 1, 2020.
